The Program of School Psychology – Origins and Introductions

1.     Origins

In recent years, the focus of helping maladjusted and disadvantaged students was changed from remedial education to prevention. Therefore, the need for professional evaluation specialist draws our attention. Also, with the trend that special education cooperate with normal education, demand for normal school teacher to identify the student’s special needs increases, while we do not have the professional pre-service training. In view of that, our department cooperated with the department of special education and set a program of school psychology in 2006.
