  1. Title and number of openings: An opening for EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) faculty member, as full-time or contract faculty or professor-level professional technical teacher. 
  2. Professional expertise: Educational Psychology or Counseling Psychology.
  3. Applicants with experiences in teaching courses in English at the university level will have a priority. All courses are required to teach in English.
  4. Educational and Research Background:
  1. Applicants for the position of EMI Full-time Faculty (novice teachers with a doctorate degree excluded) must meet one of the following qualifications:

(1) Being the first or corresponding author of at least two published articles within the past three years in journals listed in SCI, SCIE, SSCI, TSSCI, EI, A&HCI, THCI (originally THCI Core before 2016) or academic journals of SCOPUS.

(2) Leading at least two research projects sponsored by the National Science and Technology Council during the past three years.

(3) Publication of at least one book or monograph within the past three years; review comments and proof of publication should be provided.

  • The aforementioned journal articles and research projects funded by the National Science and Technology Council may offset one another.
  • “Novice teachers with a doctorate degree” refers to individuals who obtained their doctoral degree within two years prior to the first date of this department’s public announcement, excluding the period of mandatory military service for males.
  1. Applicants for the position of EMI Contract Faculty (novice teachers with a doctorate degree excluded) must meet one of the following qualifications:

(1) Being the first or corresponding author of at least two published articles within the past three years in journals listed in SCI, SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, EI, TSSCI, THCI (originally THCI Core before 2016) or academic journals of SCOPUS.

(2) Being the first or corresponding author of one original academic article in journals of the top 5% Impact Factor in the last three years.

(3) Publication of at least one book or monograph within the past three years; review comments and proof of publication should be provided.

(4) Possessing industry practical experience, outstanding portfolio work, and supporting documentation.

  1. Applicants for the position of EMI Professor-level Professional Technical Teacher must meet one of the following qualifications:

(1) Having served as Associate Professor-level Professional Technical Specialist at NTNU for more than three years, with excellent performance and concrete achievements.

(2) Having engaged in professional work in a psychology-related field for more than 15 years, with a distinguished reputation and exceptional expertise or accomplishments. However, for those who have won international-level awards, the required years of experience may be reduced accordingly.

  1. Applicants for EMI full-time faculty: According to the “NTNU Newly Appointed Distinguished Talent Incentive Regulations,” newly appointed full-time faculty members will receive certain amount of incentive for at most three years, based on their academic performance. For NTNU full-time faculty members, annual incentive will be granted based on the evaluation of academic performance, according to the “NTNU Appointed Distinguished Talent Incentive Regulations.” In addition, our department selectively assists outstanding candidates in applying for the Yushan Young Scholars Award.
  2. Applicants for EMI contract faculty: According to Article 10 of the “NTNU Directives Governing the Appointment of Contract Faculty Members and Research Fellows”, contract faculty member or research fellow whose performance is outstanding may be given priority for appointment as a regular full-time faculty member or research fellow.
